The Adoration of Belinus



(To be performed after the Arthurian Pentagram Ritual)

I. Sunrise.

In the morning, at sunrise, face the rising sun in the East. Make the Sign of Air, and say:

We greet thee, Lord Belinus.
We greet thee, father of gods and men.
We greet thee, bringer of daylight, giver of healing, wielder of death,
Defeater of Bran and Taranis!
Oh thou who art born at morning,
We greet thee in the House of the Sword.

Then, make the Sign of Silence, and then the Sign of Arthur Returned*, and say,

Holy art Thou, Lord of the Universe
Holy art Thou whom nature hath not formed,
Holy art Thou, the vast and mighty One!
Lord of the light and of the darkness, Amen.

Conclude with the Sign of Silence.

II. Noon.

In the time which is halfway between sunrise and sunset, face the transiting sun in the South. Make the Sign of Fire, and say:

We salute thee, Lord Belinus.
We salute thee, father of gods and men.
We salute thee, bringer of daylight, giver of healing, wielder of death,
Defeater of Bran and Taranis.
Oh thou who ruleth the day,
We salute thee in the House of the Spear.

Then, make the Sign of Silence, and then resume the Sign of Fire, and say,

Holy art Thou, Lord of the Universe
Holy art Thou whom nature hath not formed.
Holy art Thou, the vast and mighty One!
Lord of the light and of the darkness, Amen.

Conclude with the Sign of Silence.

III. Sunset.

At sunset, face the settiing sun in the West. Make the Sign of Water, and say:

We thank thee, Lord Belinus.
We thank thee, father of gods and men.
We thank thee, bringer of daylight, giver of healing, wielder of death,
Defeater of Bran and Taranis.
Oh thou who dieth at sunset,
We thank thee in the House of the Cauldron.

Then, make the Sign of Silence, and then make the Sign of Air, and say,

Holy art Thou, Lord of the Universe
Holy art Thou whom nature hath not formed,
Holy art Thou, the vast and mighty One!
Lord of the light and of the darkness, Amen.

Conclude with the Sign of Silence.

IV. Midnight.

In the time which is halfway between sunset and sunrise, face the hidden sun in the North. Make the Sign of Earth, and say:

Oh thou who art born at sunrise,
Oh thou who rules the day at noon,
Oh thou who dies at sunset,
Be thou conceived anew at midnight,
Now, in the House of the Stone.

Then, make the Sign of Silence, and then the Sign of Water, and say,

Holy art Thou, Lord of the Universe
Holy art Thou whom nature hath not formed.
Holy art Thou, the vast and mighty One!
Lord of the light and of the darkness, Amen.

Conclude with the Sign of Silence.

*The Sign of Arthur Returned is the former "Sign of Osiris Slain," only with the head unbowed, and the arms lifted slightly higher, as this is a more triumphant gesture.
